Recognized safety expertise – reliability and passenger protection
Passenger safety is our top priority. For over a century and a half, we've led the way in passenger protection – consistently delivering advanced solutions and installation techniques that set the standard.
Performance – strong and durable components
Our escalators are designed to the highest safety standards, featuring robust components that help reduce the risk of system-critical failures.
Improved compact and reinforced truss
The optimized truss design with open steel profiles and protection by double-layer coating or hot-dip galvanization provides long-lasting corrosion resistance. The vibration-isolated end supports prevent sound transmission to the building.
Drive shaft designed to last
Our drive shaft design features a robust connection between the hollow shaft and the sprocket, delivering durability that exceeds safety standards and significantly lowers the risk of breakage.
Effective braking system to reduce the risk of falling
With the brake torque adapted to the direction of travel, Schindler’s unique braking system minimizes the risk of passengers falling during emergency stops.
Double monitoring and control of key safety parameters
The MICONIC F microprocessor controller has two independent safety circuits to monitor the essential safety parameters.
Triple control of speed and unintentional change of direction
The speed and traffic direction are monitored on the motor, step band, and handrail. The triple monitoring effectively prevents overspeed and change of direction.
Anti-fall barrier
Improper use of escalators happens occasionally. Our innovative anti-fall product complements the existing balustrade, providing an additional layer of protection.
Passenger-centric solutions – seamless experience
Our escalators deliver rides that aren't only safe, but also smooth and comfortable.
Ergonomic and reinforced handrail
The new ergonomic handrail design combines high flexibility with strength and increased breaking load to ensure a long service life. Even small hands can comfortably hold the handrail.
Standing safe
Innovative features such as slip-resistant steps, with optional screw-free safety demarcations, aesthetic skirt brushes, and skirt anti-friction coating ensure a safe foothold.
Break-resistant aluminum compact steps
Steps are one of the most important safety components. The in-house produced aluminum mono-block step provides significantly higher break resistance at substantially lower step weight compared to multipart compound steel steps.
Effective passenger guidance
The Schindler 9300 is designed to guide passengers safely to the next floor. Full visual guidance is provided by moving LED direction indicators, fire-resistant step demarcations, yellow signal combs, and LED-step-gap lighting.
Continuous handrail sanitization
Handrails are among the most frequently touched surfaces on escalators and moving walks. Schindler Ultra UV continuously sanitizes the handrail using integrated UV-C technology, helping provide a cleaner and more reassuring journey for every passenger.
Energy-efficiency – saving wherever we can
We’re committed to delivering environmentally friendly solutions that align with your sustainability goals. We provide Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) verified by a third party and recognized by green building certification schemes, including LEED, DGNB, BREEAM, and Green Mark. Health Product Declaration (HPD) are also available.
Efficient aluminum steps
Our in-house-produced aluminum steps and pallets are among the most durable in the industry. Their reduced weight compared to steel improves operational efficiency and extends their lifespan.
Advanced drive systems
Our advanced drive systems integrate motors with IE3 premium efficiency or IE4 super premium efficiency alongside high-efficiency helical gears. An energy efficiency class better than A+++ can be achieved, exceeding ISO 25745-3 standards.
Smart operation management
Save energy when there are few passengers. When the system detects low traffic, it switches to ECO Mode – reducing energy consumption by up to 25% at nominal speed. Stop-and-go or crawling speed operation saves energy further, and downward travel generates additional energy.
Architectural flexibility – compact design for more building space
The "Enlarge Space" concept revolutionizes escalator design by focusing on the overall width without compromising the step width, thus ensuring the comfort and safety of passengers. This approach liberates valuable space, potentially increasing rental or retail areas.
More space at entry and exit
The balustrade has been shortened, creating more space in front of the escalator at each landing.
Reduced overall escalator width
The overall width of the escalator has been reduced while retaining the same nominal step width.
Aesthetics – in harmony with your building
Our Schindler 9300 escalator has been conceived to blend in your architecture with a timeless design, whether it’s in a shopping mall, a stadium, or an office building. A wide selection of customizable options is available for an outstanding look.
